All articles published in Landscape Online are published under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0). Under this license, authors retain ownership of the copyright for their content, but allow anyone to download, reuse, reprint, modify, distribute and/or copy the content, even commercially, as long as the original authors and source are cited. For more information read the human-readable summary or the full license legal code.
With this Landscape Online agrees upon the Berlin declaration on Open Access to Scientific Knowledge and grant all users „a free, irrevocable, worldwide, right of access to, and a license to copy, use, distribute, transmit and display the work publicly and to make and distribute derivative works, in any digital medium for any responsible purpose, subject to proper attribution of authorship […], as well as the right to make small numbers of printed copies for their personal use.“ (The Berlin declaration on Open Access to Scientific Knowledge of 22 October 2003)
We sometimes get asked, why we do not publish under the Non-Commercial-Attribution (CC BY-NC), whereas the material cannot be used for commercial purposes. The answer is simple: this is not conform with the Berlin declaration on Open Access to Scientific Knowledge. This license was developed to facilitate free access to, and unrestricted reuse of, original works of all types. Applying this standard license to your own work will ensure that it is freely and openly available in perpetuity.
